Client: BedrijfsVestigingsadres is a business directory that makes it easy to find detailed information about registered companies.
About the case
BedrijfsVestigingsadres (BVA) is a digital business directory that gives companies the opportunity to make themselves more visible and trustworthy by showcasing information such as their establishment location, VAT and KVK numbers, and even website. People visiting BVA can then discover companies based on locations, sectors and categories.
BVA was developed in collaboration with Digital Economy Hub as part of its wider ecosystem of digital platforms. Through this collaboration, BVA provides a dedicated place for companies to register their business information and make their presence more accessible online.
What we envisioned for BVA was to:
- Allow companies to register themselves for free.
- Give every registered company its own company page.
- Allow companies to showcase information such as:
- Company name
- Company description
- Address / establishment location
- KVK number
- VAT number
- Categories and tags
- Website
- Allow companies to manage and update their business information when details change.
- Make it possible to search for companies based on locations, sectors, categories.
Approach and Development
The first step in building BVA was to create a platform where companies could register their business information and make themselves easier to find online. We focused on giving each company its own page where visitors could discover important information, such as its address, company details, and website.
As the platform grew, we saw opportunities to expand its functionality beyond the directory itself. We wanted to make BVA useful not only for finding companies, but also for people looking for practical tools and features to support their business activities. This led to several additional features being introduced:
- A tool to calculate VAT (BTW).
- An hourly-rate calculator to help users determine their rates.
- A postcode-based search tool to find registered companies in a specific area.
- The possibility to directly register your company on SamenZakelijk.
- A discount for companies willing to host their e-mail using TheHostMasters.
- The option for companies to promote or verify their business.
By combining a searchable business directory with practical tools and additional services, BVA offers more than just a place for companies to list their information. As the platform continued to grow, it also created more opportunities for businesses to increase their visibility and reach a wider audience.

Companies and Connections
As time went on, BVA continued to grow while we worked on other projects, including SamenZakelijk. As both platforms developed, it became clear that there was an opportunity to connect them. We introduced the ability for companies to register their business on both platforms, allowing them to maintain their presence across BVA and SamenZakelijk while using each platform for its own purpose.
Business Visibility and Promotion
One of the main goals of BVA is to help businesses become more visible online. By giving each company its own dedicated page, the platform provides a place to showcase important business information and make it easier for potential customers and partners to discover them. Companies can further enhance their presence by promoting their listings or obtaining a verification badge, offering additional ways to stand out and build trust with visitors.
Making Business Information Accessible
BVA brings company information together in one place, making it easier for visitors to discover businesses and learn more about what they offer. By providing details such as establishment addresses, company descriptions, and website links, the platform helps visitors find relevant information without having to search across multiple sources.

Results
Over time, BVA has developed into more than just a digital business directory. By combining company profiles with practical business tools and promotional opportunities, the platform offers businesses a place to present themselves online while helping visitors discover relevant companies and access useful information.
The platform now brings together several features designed to support both businesses and visitors, including:
- Dedicated company pages where businesses can showcase their information and website.
- Search functionality to help visitors discover companies based on location and category.
- Promotional and verification options to give businesses additional ways to present themselves.
- Practical tools, including a VAT calculator, an hourly-rate calculator, and a postcode-based company search.
- Connections with SamenZakelijk, allowing businesses to establish a presence across both platforms.
Through these developments, BVA has established itself as a digital directory that combines business discovery with practical resources and opportunities for greater visibility. As part of the wider Digital Economy Hub ecosystem, the platform can continue to evolve alongside the needs of the businesses and visitors who use it.
