BigSellers is a Dutch gift buying guide that helps gift fans across the Netherlands and Belgium find original gifts, outings, and gadgets through carefully curated recommendations. No matter which occasion, or who you're searching for, BigSellers has a gift guide for everyone.

Made by studio evers, BigSellers was built as a WordPress website that publishes gift inspiration and guides daily, each based on carefully chosen and trustworthy recommendations.

Having years' worth of content on their website meant we needed to migrate every gift guide BigSellers had ever made. To move everything from WordPress into our CMS, we built a system that automatically converts WordPress code into our CMS. Not only did the migration take little time to execute, the website also became faster through our CMS.

The main tasks included:

  • Giving strategic and technical advice
  • Migrating their website to our CMS
  • Integrating AffiliateMNGR for managing affiliate links and ad placements
  • Adding new functionality to modernize the website

The goal was to give BigSellers a faster and modernized website with easier affiliate management, along with new functionality to build on.

Approach

As BigSellers built up years' worth of content while still publishing new gift guides daily, their website started slowing down. We needed an approach that made the website faster while keeping all existing content intact.

A generic WordPress setup wasn't built to handle that scale efficiently, so moving BigSellers to our own CMS meant we could optimize specifically for their content volume and daily publishing workflow, rather than working around WordPress's limitations.

So our approach included:

  • Migrating to our CMS via the WordPress-to-CMS conversion tool
  • Setting up AffiliateMNGR for centralized affiliate and ad management
  • Advising throughout the migration process
  • Adding new functionality and refinements after the migration

This gave BigSellers a faster, more modern website without losing what already worked.

Managing Affiliate Links and Ads

Before the migration, BigSellers' affiliate links were managed across separate systems, including TradeTracker and Bol.com, each with its own workflow. Switching between them to add, update, or delete a link made day-to-day affiliate management slower than it needed to be, which is why we integrated AffiliateMNGR for BigSellers.

This way, they can create and manage all their affiliate ads and links themselves, in one place, while saving time and effort compared to doing the same work in WordPress.

Results

BigSellers has been successfully migrated from WordPress to our own CMS, giving them a faster, more flexible foundation for managing their gift content.
